The Province of Eastern Samar
The Province
The Province of Eastern Samar, is located in the Eastern Visayas region. Its capital is the city of Borongan, which is the most populous. Eastern Samar occupies the eastern portion of the island of Samar.
Transport
The province has one operational airport; Borongan Airport located in the capital city. Currently, only SkyJet Airlines operates out of Borongan Airport with three flights weekly to and from Cebu.
The nearest Airport with flights to and from Manila is Tacloban, in the neighbouring province of Leyte, which is served by several flights per day.
By land, minibuses and vans ply from the regional centre in Tacloban City to some towns in Eastern Samar, including Llorente, and Borongan.
From Borongan City buses, vans, multi-cabs and tricycles can be used to travel to Llorente.
The Eaglestar bus service from Manila serves Catbalogan, Borongan, Llorente and Tacloban.
